One K away from alienating their loyal and adoring African American fanbase KK are a pleasant delivery of aggressive and trashy jams. In their own words they sound not unlike “Bruce Willis and Christopher Walken high-fiving during a spit roast”. If you like DFA 1979 then you’ll probably be into it, keep an eye on their myspace for upcoming gigs.
Peggy Mitchell likes grime. I like Street Fighter and when mixed with grime it sounds like this.
He may be a piss head but fair dues to Mr. Mc Gowan for putting it together. The cover of ‘I Put A Spell On You’ is available for download with all proceeds going to Concern in aid of the people of Haiti. Worth it for the mean guitar solo from Johny Depp.
Hailing from the Cork/Kerry region of Ireland this family outfit has garnered a somewhat loyal cult following most notably among the gay community which resulted in a tribute to the rising rural superstars by Panti and co. They’ve already had a write up in the Irish Times and Matt Cooper was pitching them for Eurovision on Today Fm earlier. China, the U.S and other territories have been sniffing around the talented Burke family but lets hope they ditch the bright lights of Beijing and bring Ireland back the illusive Eurovision title we so desperately crave.
They’re Danish. They’re kinda like what the XX would sound like if they cheered up a little. They’ve a new album out, give it a try. You might like it. Listen here.
Sync/Lost is a multi-user installation for immersion in the history of electronic music. The installation can be used by three users simultaneously, with wiimote and headphones/soundspeakers. Each one interacts by choosing a style on the interface. My sincer apologies for lack of posts… Wordpress issues hence the (accidental) new design.
A lovely moment caught on camera by Scanarama. Bono gets together with Damien Rice, Declan O’Rourke, Glen Hansard, Liam Ó Maonlaí, Mundy, Vyvienne Long and more to busk for the Simon Community.
I’ve done what they told me and bought “Killing In The Name Of” by Rage Against The Machine in an effort that will bring it closer to that number one spot for crimbo. Rage guitarist Tom Morello is all about the chart anarchy and approved of throwing a spanner in Simon Cowell’s seemingly unstoppable pop machine. Either way the Sony label wins but it’s a moral victory nonetheless over Simon Cowell. With his ego I’m sure it’d have to sting just a bit to take number 2. It’d be worth the 99c to make Cheryl “Alreet Luv” Cole cry anyway.
This blog had suffered due to good work I’ve been doing for Movember, the men’s moustache growing charity. Last night marked the official end of Movember in Ireland with the Gala Parté in Tripod. Our team dressed fabulously in Disney dress that had Walt probably turning his cryogenic grave. I dressed as Pedro Pan and following dancing naked at the IADT ‘Miracle on Store Street’ Xmas do with all but a green pair of tights on. Meneo, the man responsible for all the magical nakedness that ensued played a stormer with his GameBoy and if you ever get the opportunity to see them make sure you do. GOLD.
