I’ve long since outgrown my  Raleigh Wildcat (the black & red one that had a box on the handlebars that lit up and made noises!) so I’ve been thinking about what style of bike to invest in. Mountain, Chopper, BMX or maybe something more distinguished like these Granturismo bicycles that BT2 have had shipped over from Italy. Coming in a number of colors the ‘Uomo’ bike for men and the ‘Donna’ for women brings classic vintage style and needless to say, a healthy mode of transport at a wedge of 695 squids. ‘Ouch’ you say? Well the government have introduced a scheme as of last January where employees working for participating companies (the scheme is voluntary) can choose a bicycle and any associated safety equipment up to a maximum value of €1,000 which the employer will then buy and the purchase will be treated as a tax-exempt benefit-in-kind meaning that a quality piece of kit like this is well within your grasp and the original price tag won’t sting that much!
