Tomorrow in Newmarket Square, Dublin is The Brocante furniture market brimming with shiny antiques, retro furniture and collectables. Unlike some other chancers who sell pieces around Dublin, you might actually be able to afford something from here. Starts at 11am until 5pm. Click here for more.

On Sunday I managed to bum a last minute lift out to the Vintage Fashion & Decor Fair in Dun Laoghaire where I thoroughly enjoyed side stepping through the busy crowds to seek out and marvel at the clothes, jewelry, nick-nacks and furnishings they had to offer. There was folk in their retro glad rags a swingin’ and a jivin’ to the classic tunes of the 40’s and there was a great vibe in the gaf. I came away empty handed but I did see an Italian band jacket from the 60’s amongst the rails of Epoch Boutique that I would have definitely would have acquired if my overdraft facility allowed it. My chauffeur however came away with this nautical skirt below after being put in her place by a jewelry stall owner for touching a very expensive bracelet. She did bang of shoplifter that day I suppose. For those who missed out there’s another Frock Around The Clock fair on Sunday 10th May in the Holiday Inn, Ormeau Road, Belfast.
Big versions of little stuff usually rocks and this is one example. Available from Greatbigstuff.com, you can have a personalized message or logo on your own massive key. It doesn’t look entirely uncomfortable either with an ass groove as standard for about $125. And yes, I am extremely chuffed with that post title.
My 2 year old nephew uses his hands as cutlery so he’s more like slob the builder than bob the builder. I think this could help from Flying Peas.
We like this Calf & Half pitcher available from Pop Deluxe.
From Miss Dee to Mr. T! Buying this top is definitely on my to-do-list. Mixko is the brainchild of Alex Garnett and Nahoko Koyama. This creative duo’s studio is based in the UK where their objective, in their own words, is to create items that inspire happiness and possess a satisfying simplicity. My satisfyingly simple description is that they just churn out amazing shit (just look at those whippy lampshades!). Even though I was a loyal Commodore 64 child in the ayteez the Atari joystick candle-holder still presses my buttons…geddit? I’m sorry. My puns are only broootal.
