On Sunday I managed to bum a last minute lift out to the Vintage Fashion & Decor Fair in Dun Laoghaire where I thoroughly enjoyed side stepping through the busy crowds to seek out and marvel at the clothes, jewelry, nick-nacks and furnishings they had to offer. There was folk in their retro glad rags a swingin’ and a jivin’ to the classic tunes of the 40’s and there was a great vibe in the gaf. I came away empty handed but I did see an Italian band jacket from the 60’s amongst the rails of Epoch Boutique that I would have definitely would have acquired if my overdraft facility allowed it. My chauffeur however came away with this nautical skirt below after being put in her place by a jewelry stall owner for touching a very expensive bracelet. She did bang of shoplifter that day I suppose. For those who missed out there’s another Frock Around The Clock fair on Sunday 10th May in the Holiday Inn, Ormeau Road, Belfast.

We love good gadgetry here at trendspot and when I saw this on telly this morning I just wanted them to mess around with. Each glove can play 8 notes in the key of C (you press on the heel of the hand to change the middle three fingers to the last 3 notes of the scale). I returned earlier from the 9th Fashion Bloggers Brunch after a much needed and very much appreciated meal courtesy of the fantastic SABA of Clarendon Street. Is maith liom Thai grub and this being my first time to enter SABA’s stylish eatery I left a satisfyingly full and happy chappy. I had the Hoisin Duck Rolls, Bangkok Noodles (I only realised afterwards when my nose was running that the 3 asterisks meant extremely spicy and not extremely nice, which of course it was!) and a sumptuous chocolate pudding that was actually worthy of a top spot above doing the bold thing. A massive thanks to fashion queen-bee and all round super lady Annmarie O’ Connor from I Blog Fashion for organizing the deal and spoiling us all yet again with goody bags that included SABA delights and some product goodness from Yes To Carrots which a lady friend has badgered me to give to her. I’ll replace the above empty photo once I steal a photo from another blogger! Bring on the FFB X!

Likened to Beck and Tom Waits, Herm is a Galway chap and has been bustin’ out quality tunage since 04′ and his lastest efforts should not go unnoticed if there’s any justice in this feckless country. My bank account has been very unhealthy due to my frivolous spending so anything I think I want to purchase I firstly ask myself… ‘Can you make this yourself?’. 9 times out of 10 I just say ‘No’ and buy it anyway but in this case I shall save some spends. I wanted a LEGO belt buckle, my laziness just led to me googling ‘buy lego belt buckle’ but via this search I encountered a step by step guide to make a Space Invaders buckle. I will post up pics once I have attempted it! The website is cool to, its called Instructables and has a heapload of ‘how to’ guides to make deadly stuff.
Before this 3D flix were done using 2 cameras but now Panasonic have combined it into one piece of tricked out technology, also tapes are out the door and memory chips are used to store the three-dimensional magic. This may still be in development as its availability has not been yet announced. It’ll be more than likely too expensive for the sex tape amateur so anyone pondering about taking those projectile ‘money shots’ to the 3D screen will have to think again or not at all. Dirty beggars.
The Electric Picnic 2009 line-up was anounced yesterday night. Tickets are back on sale tommorow at 9am. Still don’t know if i’ll go (more than likely I will!) and if I did I’d be wanting to see Chic, 2manydjs, Simian Mobile Disco, ABC, Sugarhill Gang, Basement Jaxx….shag it, I’m getting a ticket!!
